We gave ourselves the deadline of July 31 to get our second application out in the mail. We sent it in the mail on August 3 so not too bad. Our fundraiser for July was a letter campaign. The processing fee for this application was covered by two people who sent funds. Thank You! The adoption agency now has 30 days to process our application. Thanks to another donor the fee due at that time is covered. Thank You!
We will be meeting with our home study agency in two weeks. At that time our background checks will be started. Some people see our goal to raise $40,000 and think it is huge and they can't help. If 20 people send us $20 each we will have the money we need to cover the background check. Seeing it in little chunks looks more doable doesn't it. Every little bit helps. A few have already done this. Thank You!
In June our fundraiser was a garage sale at a friend's home. We made $50. In July another friend of ours had a garage sale and let us put a few items in it. They also let us put out a donation jar. We made $26 to help with the adoption. At the end of this month we will be having another garage sale at our home. A few friends have offered to donate items for this sale. Thanks Doug, Terri, Matt, Miranda, Lisa, and Beth!
In September a friend who has a Stampin' Up business will be having a fundraiser for us. She will have stations set up to make cards. We will be selling gently used craft items at this event also. Thanks Nicole!
In October our fundraiser is Inspired Novelties. We will be advertising this on facebook. Thanks Susie!
In November we will be having a Simply Fun fundraiser. Thanks Terri!
For December I am looking into a fundraiser through Show Hope. It will be an ongoing fundraiser.

Today I spent some time looking into several grants. A few I will be able to apply for soon. Most I can apply for when our home study is complete, sometime around November. A few we have to wait until we have a referral.
I also looked at the timeline on our agencies site. If things continue to go as they have we could have our little girl in our home as soon as May. More likely it will be next summer but it could take until after the start of 2014. We continue to trust God through this process. Trusting for His timing, for His guidance, for His generosity through His people. We continue to take it all one step at a time to keep from going out of our minds.
